Harbin is the wonderful capital of the beautiful district Heilongjiang at the northeast of China. Heilongjiang (the Black Dragon River) is bordering Russia at the north of the district.
Together with the districts Jilin and Liaoning it is also known as the region Manchuria.
Some famous and beautiful other cities and sites at Heilongjiang are Daqing; Qiqihar, with in the region the biggest wetland reserve of China; Heihe, on the banks of the Heilongjiang river, Yichun, Hegang, Jiamusi, Shuangyashan, Qitaihe, Jixi, Mudanjiang.
The beautiful Wudalianchi Lakes are a series of five lakes formed between 1719 and 1721 when volcanic eruption shaped one section of a tributary of the Amur into five interconnected lakes. The second lake in particular is renowned for its irregular geological sights.
Jingbo Lake, which is in the county of Ning'an, is a section of the Mudan river that has been narrowed and shaped by volcanic eruption into a series of sights, including the amazing Diaoshuilou Falls.
The next district to visit at the journey is Jilin.
